Jimmie D. Kennedy was born on August 2, 1929 to the late Dave and Lillie Mae Kennedy in Decatur, AL.

Jimmie was baptized at and early age. He joined Mt. Paran Baptist Church in 1998.

On April 26, 1952 he married Jessie Patton and to this union had six children, three boys, three girls and twelve grandchildren. Jimmie was very passionate about his family.

Jimmie’s career spanned over 70 years working as a carpenter.

On the afternoon of December 3, 2015, Jimmie was called home to glory. He was preceded in death by his parents Dave and Lillie Mae Kennedy, his son Howard Kennedy, daughter Gail Riley, 10 brothers and 2 sisters.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Jessie of 63 years, his children, Steven Kennedy (Ingrid), Ronnie Kennedy (Patricia), Kathleen Kennedy-Bunnell, Deborah Sullivan, brother, Aaron Kennedy, 12 grandchildren and a host of family, friends, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 7, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. with visitation from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at Mt. Paran Baptist Church, 4001 N. Franklin Road, Indianapolis, In 46226. Burial to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery
